Update

So it has now been about 6 months since I broke my ankle. I am doing okay. It has been hard. Running has been a challenge.  For the last 2 months I have been contemplating whether I should go back to physical therapy. I have decided to try to do it here at home. I am exercising very regularly. At least 3-5xs a week. I have found that since I started doing Zumba and aerobics my ankle isn’t hurting as much any more. I still have limitations though. I have notices that when I am in the tub it is hard to sit on my knees with my legs folded straight back and my butt on my feet. My ankle doesn’t want to flex that much. It is hard for me to do things that require flexibility.

I know when I Zumba , I can’t hop on the ankle that was injured. But I have stuck by it and it is getting better. Normal day activities I can do now with ease. I used to not be able to walk around the mall without getting tired. My ankle would start to hurt. Now I can put in major shopping hours without any pain. I also used to not be able to wear high heels. While it still seems that in some shoes my foot isn’t positioned correctly, I can know walk further with no issues. I am actively working to keep my foot pointed straight instead of slightly turned.  I am also working on the Wii Fit. It has balance games that help work on your balance. There are other games that will help strengthen my body and ankles.

I am hopeful. Things are getting better.  I am still not 100% but I am at least 95%  I hope that with continued diet and exercise I will get back to 100%.
